Description: Sand Socks, Inc., the inventor of Sand Socks, is an Austin, TX based company founded to serve and promote beach and water sports.  Mike from Sand Socks says, “The company was founded by beach sports enthusiasts who realized that the weather conditions sometimes impair one’s ability to fully enjoy the beach.  In summer, beach sand can get so hot that you just cannot stand on the sand without getting physical burns or at least a lot of discomfort.  For the avid beach volleyball, soccer, surfer, boater, or other sportsman, we knew this was simply unacceptable.  The same is true for cold and wet sand in the wintertime.

Thus, we designed Sand Socks to give the beach and water sportsman the comfort and flexibility to play in any conditions on any beach without worrying about injury or comfort.  All of our socks give players the protection they need with a barefoot feel.  We offer a range of performance footwear products on our shopping cart site.  The design and flexibility of our site, the Magento software we use, and LexiConn’s hosting allows us to stay connected and visible to the various industry customers that use our products.  From the dive industry to paddle sports and beach sports industries, our product is easily found by our customers, and once on the website, everything loads speedily which we love!”

Technologies Used: Mike continued, “We use the Magento software with various plugins.  For years we used a different hosting service and had troubles with website speed.  During our busiest month one year, the website was running so slowly that it would repeatedly crash and we lost hundreds of dollars in possible sales because the website was down.  No such problem with LexiConn!  Everything has been loading really fast since the switch.  We also use plugins such as Affiliate Plus, MageMonkey, and Matrix Rates.  Using the newsletter function has made our lives a lot easier.  Our newsletter subscribers are able to sync up with Mailchimp via the MageMonkey plugin without a problem.  LexiConn’s support with helping us install certain plugins has really helped too!  We are not professional web developers, so having LexiConn’s customer service in our back pocket is extremely helpful.”
